Janeiro. Projetado em um contexto histórico onde desejava-se transformar
a então capital do país em um grande centro aos moldes de Paris, o
teatro é concebido como réplica da Ópera de Paris
O Teatro nasce em meio a essa atmosfera de virada de século, de busca
por modernidade e, desde então, traz consigo a missão de se tornar um
ambiente destinado à prática artística, que desenvolvesse
e solidificasse a cultura brasileira, além de permitir um intercâmbio
cultural com o resto do mundo.
